Coombabah borders the Coomera River and is a family orientated suburb with an abundance of parks, wildlike and easy river access. There are alot of lake and riverfront homes offering an uninterrupted view of the estuary. The word Coombabah translates to meaning "Home of the Turtles".

Coombabah offers easy shopping and there are many other centres nearby including Paradise Point Village Shops, Runaway Bay Shopping Village and Harbour Town. There are three retirement villages in the area providing excellent facilities in aged care. For educational requirements there are two Primary Schools, one High School and one Private School within the Coombabah radius.
